Vaccination Policy


In compliance with NYC requirements, all guests age 5 and older must show proof of vaccination in order to enter indoor exhibits*.

  • WRISTBAND FOR INDOOR ACCESS will be available at a Vaccination Check station at park entry. Guests must show wristband to enter.
  • Children under the age of 5 are permitted to visit with vaccinated adult chaperone. Masks continue to be required for age 2 and older.
  • Beginning December 27, all guests age 12 and older must show proof of being fully vaccinated - proof they have received two vaccine doses, except for those who have received the one does of Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
  • As of Dec 14, children 5-11 must show proof of at least 1 shot. Starting January 29, 2022, children ages 5 to 11 must show proof of full vaccination.
  • GUESTS 18+ must also show an official form of identification with name and photo or date of birth, such as driver's license, non-driver government ID card, IDNYC, passport, or school ID card.
  • PROOF OF VACCINATION may include CDC Vaccination Card (or photo), NYC COVID Safe App, New York State Excelsior Pass, NYC Vaccination Record, or an official immunization record from outside NYC or the U.S.
  • PROOF OF VACCINATION FOR VACCINES ADMINISTERED OUTSIDE THE U.S: show official immunization record that includes: First name and last name; Date of birth; Vaccine product name; Date(s) administered; Site where the vaccine was administered or person who administered the vaccine.

Those who are not able to show proof of vaccination and ID are not permitted to enter the park at this time. Please consider visiting our zoo where you can join us for some all-outdoors wildlife experiences: Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo and Queens Zoo.

*Arrival to the Aquarium is an indoor building, and a majority of experiences are indoors; therefore, all guests 12+ are required to be vaccinated.
