June 8th is World Oceans Day, and we’re celebrating the vital role that oceans play in our lives with a whole weekend filled with activities and entertainment, including Wildlife Theater, crafts, photo ops, keeper chats, parades, games, costumed characters, puppets, and NEW activities and experiences.

Join our keepers at Spineless featuring the amazing animals that call this exhibit home.
Penguin Chats

Waddle to Sea Cliffs to watch a penguin feeding! While the keepers are working, our Education team will introduce our penguin colony. Discover amazing penguin adaptations, and learn ways that you can help protect penguins and their habitats around the world.

Pinniped Feeds

What is a Pinniped? Join us at Sea Cliffs to learn what makes our sea lions and harbor seals pinnipeds. While our keepers feed and train, learn how we care for marine mammals here and in the wild.

Sea Lions in the Big City

Do our California sea lions have what it takes to make it in the big city?! Check out the Aquatheater Show. With amazing adaptations and expert care our sea lions and their trainers prove that not only can they make it here, but with our help, sea life can make it everywhere!

Dance and sing along while learning the importance of our oceans with our Wildlife Theater troupe as they perform the "Ocean Song!"

The New York Aquarium is committed to seeing marine life thrive both here and in the wild. Meet Aquarium staff at the Sea Change exhibit, and learn about how we care for animals at the aquarium and in the wild.

World Oceans Day
Beach Cleanup
Join us Saturday, June 6th for a Coney Island Beach Sweep on the boardwalk in front of the Aquarium. Check out the Aquarium then meet up from 12:00-2:00pm for the cleanup – it’s a day filled with incredible aquatic animals and keeping our beaches beautiful!
