Classroom Programs
Bring your students to the New York Aquarium and have one of our talented educators lead your class through a wild experience! Programs are designed to meet appropriate learning standards in a way everyone is sure to enjoy. You'll explore marine life up close, meet an ocean invertebrate, and engage in hands-on learning and fun.
Fish of NY
Classroom Program | 6th - 8th
Discover why fish are among the most successful and diverse animals on earth! We’ll focus on physical adaptations of local species found right here in New York, from sharks to sea robins! Through exploring the Ocean Wonders: Sharks! exhibit, students will create their own fish to be the perfect New York aquatic resident!

Squid Anatomy Dissection
Classroom Program | 6th - 8th
Discover the connection between form and function through a guided, collaborative squid dissection. Students will get a hands-on anatomy experience learning about squids. Students will use the scientific process, scientific tools, and use their curiosity to guide their exploration.

Marine Mammal Behavior
Virtual Program | Grades 6th-8th
Your students will gain hands-on experience in the scientific method as a WCS educator guides them through a virtual visit to the NY Aquarium exhibits to study animal behavior. They will also review the characteristics of marine mammals, explore related biofacts and meet a live animal!
