Do I need a photo ID?
Yes, photo ID is required. Guests and designated drivers must be 21 and over. Individuals under 21 will not be admitted into the event.
What is the VIP ticket?
VIP ticket holders get early access to the event and can beat the crowds at their favorite brewery table! VIPs will also enjoy a special 8:00pm Aquatheater sea lion show.
Will I get to see animals without a VIP ticket?
Yes. The Glover's Reef and Conservation Hall building will be open the whole night, as well as our viewing area for the temporary shark exhibit. But please note, while penguins, otters, sea lions and walrus will be in their exhibits, it is up to the animals if they choose to be in an area that is visible to the public. In the evening, it is likely that these mammals and birds may not be visible.
Will there be non-alcoholic beverages available?
Courtesy water stations will be available. There will be soda and bottled water available for purchase.
Will there be food available?
A variety of food carts, as well as zoo snack carts, will be open and available for purchase. Food is not included in the Brew ticket price. Credit cards are accepted at many, but not all of the food trucks. An ATM is located inside the Aquarium.
What is your smoking policy?
The New York Aquarium is a smoke free environment. All smoking, including e-cigarettes, is prohibited.
What is your bag policy?
Bags will be subject to searched prior to entry.
If I leave the aquarium grounds, will I be allowed back in?
Unfortunately no. There will be no re-entry allowed at this event. If you leave the New York Aquarium for any reason you will be unable to return.
How much is parking for this event?
Night Parking (beginning at 6pm) is $20 per car. No bus parking allowed.
Does my ticket price include parking?
No.
If I am a WCS Member, do I have to pay for parking?
We are offering a special WCS Member parking discount for Boardwalk Brews! Night Parking (beginning at 6:00pm) will be $10 for any level of WCS Membership. Members must present a valid membership card and photo ID (lookups are not available). Discount for 1 car per membership.
Standard WCS Member parking benefits apply for arrivals prior to 6pm.
What is the "Designated Driver" ticket?
Designated Drivers must be 21 and over to enter. Guests with Designated Driver tickets will not receive a complimentary mug and will not be allowed to consume alcohol at the event; however, Designated Drivers will receive bottled water and a complimentary Brew gift. Designated Driver tickets are limited and may sell out prior to the event date.
Does the cost of my Designated Driver ticket include parking?
No. Night Parking is separate from all Brew tickets.
What time can Designated Driver ticket holders enter?
Designated Drivers can enter at any time so that they can accompany their party.
Can a Designated Driver be under 21 years old?
No person under the age of 21 will be permitted at Boardwalk Brews. IDs are checked at the door and any person under the age of 21 will be turned away.
Can I bring my young child or baby to this event?
No person under the age of 21 will be permitted at Boardwalk Brews. IDs are checked at the door and any person under the age of 21 will be turned away – this includes infants and small children.
Can I get to the aquarium by public transit?
Yes! We encourage you to do that! The Aquarium is convenient to numerous subway and bus stops. You can take the F or Q train to the West 8th Street station in Coney Island, the B36 to Surf Ave. and West 8th St., or the B68 to Neptune Ave. and West 8th St. Visit our directions page for further information and driving instructions
Can I feed the animals?
No, and please note, disorderly conduct will result in removal from the event. This includes feeding of animals and dumping of liquids in non-designated areas.
Can I get a refund?
No, ticket sales are final. No refunds or exchanges. The event will be held rain or shine.
