World Oceans Day

Monday, June 8

This year our World Oceans Day celebrations will be a bit different than previous years. Although we can’t celebrate together, we can protect our blue planet and be stewards for the ocean. Take a look at the virtual events that you can join, try your hand at some of the crafts perfect for young conservationists, or take a guided tour of Ocean Wonders: Sharks! Together, we can #ProtectOurHome!

Together We Can

Just like national parks help protect habitats and animals on land, marine protected areas help safeguard habitats and animals in the ocean. For #WorldOceansDay join the NY Aquarium to protect at least 30% of our land AND ocean too by 2030. Sign the petition today and take action!

Virtual Tour of Hudson Canyon

Give a Sip is a WCS campaign based out of the NY Aquarium. Our experts work to protect the New York Bight, more than 16,000 square miles of coastal and ocean waters from Montauk, NY, to Cape May, NJ.

Through local field research, policy initiatives, and public outreach, our team seeks to protect and restore threatened species and critical habitat, encourage smart ocean planning to ensure a safe place for wildlife in our busy waters, and build ecological resilience in nearshore and river habitats.
