Through dramatic play and sensory activities this series introduces students to an array of different marine animal relationships. Depending on the topic you choose, we'll explore either animal families, camouflage, or symbiosis. Each session includes an animal encounter and/or an exhibit visit. All programs align with NYS Learning Standards.

Families in the Sea
Through dramatic play and sensory activities, students explore how different marine animals care for their young. Students will wrap otter babies in kelp, lay sea turtle eggs in sand, and carry seahorse babies like a seahorse daddy.

Buddies in the Sea
Through dramatic play and sensory activities, students explore how different marine animals work together. Students act out relationships among eels and cleaner fish, sand gobies and shrimp, clown fish and sea anemones, and more!

Hiding in the Sea
Through dramatic play and sensory activities, students explore how different marine animals hide from each other. Students will pretend to camouflage their shells like decorator crabs and hide from predators inside sea anemone tentacles just like a clownfish.
