Summer Camps

Have an unforgettable Summer Camp experience at the New York Aquarium! During our week-long camp sessions we offer age-appropriate experiences that build on our campers' innate love of our blue planet.

All camps run Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

**The week of July 3 - 7 is a 4 day camp. No camp in session Wednesday, July 4.

Theme: Shark Week

Sharks might seem scary on the surface but these fabulous fish are important for healthy ocean ecosystems. Join us as we dive deep into learning about shark anatomy, behavior, care, habitats, and research. We'll meet Aquarium shark keepers and go behind the scenes of New York Aquarium Shark exhibits!

Theme: AquaBuilders

Attention artists and engineers! This week, we'll round up raw and repurposed materials to create new marine themed structures! We'll build animal enrichment toys, water and food delivery systems, animal habitats, and more! Don't miss this week of creativity and hands-on exploration!

The doctor is in! Join forces Aquarium Veterinarians and keepers who care for our animals during this week of hands-on experiences. Go behind the scenes and get up close while experiencing how our experts work together to keep our scaly, furry, and feathered friends happy and healthy.

Theme: Ocean Wonders: Exhibit Design

Ever wonder what goes into creating a new Aquarium exhibit? We'll use Ocean Wonders: Sharks as a case study to learn all about Aquarium exhibit design. Then, we'll design, test, and build our own Aquarium exhibit!

Theme: Ocean Engineering Lab

Join us in the lab to design, test, and build your own device to solve a real world conservation threat. We'll cover topics such as biomimicry, ocean engineering, marine plastics, robotics, ocean acidification, and more!

Theme: Marine Research Team

Throw on your waders and grab your seining net! We'll focus on scientific work in the field during this week of hands-on aquatic research. We'll dive into local and global efforts to learn more about marine animals and their habitats. Then, we'll go out into the wild to design and conduct our own field science investigations!

Camp Registration Information

Registration for camp is on a first come, first served basis. Our registrar will contact you to secure payment as we do not have an online payment option at this time. Upon complete registration following receipt of payment, you will receive a NY Aquarium Summer Camp Welcome Packet by email. Your packet will include important information, such as camp meeting locations, a camper pick-up authorization form, and a summary of what you can expect during camp.

If a camp session is full, your child can be placed on the Wait List. Being on the wait list does not guarantee registration. A spot will only open up for your child if someone else cancels a camp registration and you are next on the Wait List. Our Registrar can inform you of your placement on the wait list.
