You can be an Ocean Hero by joining The Project Ripple Club at the New York Aquarium. The Project Ripple Club is an ocean conservation youth action group that empowers young people to serve as ocean stewards in their community working together to support and advocate for a healthy ocean future. Project Ripple Club youth members use their collective voices and actions to raise awareness in the Coney Island community about local and global marine debris issues impacting people, wildlife, and the livelihoods that depends on a healthy ocean. Led by an Advisory Council consisting of high school students, Project Ripple Club members develop and participate in various local projects and serve as environmental stewards in the community. In addition, Club members will connect to the rich coastal environment through after-school club meetings, presentations, aquarium activities, and field trips.

The Project Ripple Club is an application-based program that recruits high school sophomore or junior year students who express a strong desire to take part in marine conservation issues.
