Take a Submarine Ride to the Deep Sea
Behold the creature of a thousand stomachs. Float over a colony of writhing tubeworms. Prepare yourself for an encounter with the giant squid—a creature no one has ever seen alive before. Ready for your deep-sea adventure?
On the New York Aquarium’s Deep Sea 3-D ride, an expedition in the Hydra submarine will carry you down to the ocean’s darkest depths. In the company of a team of scientists, you’ll track the giant squid’s fiercest predator—a sperm whale—as it dives for dinner.
Your adventure begins outside the theater with a pre-show about sperm whales and the giant squid. Then you’ll grab your glasses, buckle yourself into a seat, and hold on for a bumpy ride!
The Deep Sea 3-D Simulator seats 18 visitors per ride, and the show lasts approximately six minutes. Individual tickets cost $6.00 per ride or $4.00 when you buy an Aquarium Combo Pass. There is a 36" height restriction. Seat motion can be regulated for visitors who prefer a smooth ride.
Open 10:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m. daily, April through October.
